Itinerary
Day 01: Home – Paro – Thimphu
As you’re flying into Bhutan’s airspace, you will see the majestic views of the Himalayas in and around the country. These views will soon be met with the lush green hills and valleys of Paro. This is the 1st day of your 6 Nights Bhutan Vacation Package and the start of your amazing Bhutan trip.
As you arrive in Paro International Airport, our professional local guide will welcome you to our happy kingdom. We will escort you to your Thimphu hotel in our modern vehicle. This drive from Paro to Thimphu will be approximately 1 hour. Upon checking in at your hotel, you can have a brief rest before starting your exploration of Bhutan.
Your very first attraction in Thimphu and Bhutan will be the Memorial Chorten (Temple). With its golden tops and chimes, this National Memorial Chorten is one of the most well-known destinations in Thimphu as well as Bhutan.
Before and after your dinner in the city, you could take a relaxing walk to check out this tranquil capital city. You will be pleasantly surprised to find the stark difference between the most ‘urban’ city in Bhutan and the usual urban cities of USA, Australia, Singapore, and even Malaysia.
Your first night’s sleep in the kingdom of happiness will be in this quaint city.

Day 02: Full-Day Thimphu Excursion
Once you’re done with breakfast, we will start the second day of our 6 Nights Bhutan Vacation Package with Bumdra Trek. Firstly, we will visit the Great Buddha Dordenma statue. This enormous statue is one of the world’s largest Buddha statues and it contains 125,000 gold-plated bronze miniature Buddhas in it.
You will then travel to Thimphu’s Folk Heritage Museum to better understand the Bhutanese way of life. This special museum is in the form of a primitive Bhutanese farm house that is still used in rural areas.
The next segment of the outing will be Thimphu’s School of Arts and Crafts. This school was founded to promote Bhutanese arts and crafts to the younger generation as a meaningful and enjoyable activity.
Last on the day’s schedule would be the Motithang Taking Preserve, or affectionately known as the Takin Zoo. This will be where you can observe Bhutan’s national animal, the Takins, wandering freely in their natural environment.
If time permits, you would drop by one of Thimphu’s traditional markets to see how the locals sell their goods. You could even get some for yourselves as the prices are normally much cheaper than those sold in the main cities.
Tonight will be your second and last night in Thimphu so be sure to fully immerse yourself in the city.

Day 03: Thimphu – Punakha
The third day of your 6 Nights Bhutan Vacation package will be a 70-km (2.5 hrs) journey to Punakha and an exploration of this mystical city.
On your way to Punakha, you will take a short break at the prominent Dochula Pass. This is a mountain pass that’s well known for its 108 memorial stupas and its breath-taking views of the surrounding Himalayas.
Once you arrive in Punakha, you will check in at the hotel and then have your Bhutanese lunch in a local restaurant.
Right after lunch, you will go to the town’s most famous landmark, the 17th-century Punakha Dzong.
In the late afteroon, we’ll go for a short hike to Chimi Lhakhang that’s located on a hilltop. This is a well-known fertility temple that is said to bless visitors who wish to conceive a child.
Enjoy the third night of your Bhutan expedition in Punakha.

Day 04: Punakha – Paro
Wake up to a wonderful breakfast and welcome the fourth day of your 6 Nights Bhutan Vacation Package with Bumdra Trek.
Today’s expedition will start with a 4-hour (120km) car-ride to Paro. Your first task upon arriving in Paro is to fill your rumbling stomachs.
After a hearty lunch, you will take a spiritual and peaceful stroll in the 7th century Kyichu Monastery. This is one of the most ancient and sacred monasteries (temples) in Bhutan.
You’ll have the rest of the day free to explore the town and get acclimatised to the Paro’s climate before your Bumdra and Tiger’s Nest Temple treks in the next 2 days.
Have a sufficient night’s rest at your Paro Hotel.

Day 05: Paro – Bumdra Trek
An exciting voyage lies ahead on this fifth day of your 6 Nights Bhutan Vacation Package.
Your fifth day itinerary will begin with a 20-minute drive to Sang Choekor Buddhist University in the Paro Valley. Your Bumdra Trek adventure will start with a 1 to 2-hour hike up a shaded forested ridge. From here, you will reach a clearing with stunning views of Paro Chhu (river) and Paro Valleys. Our ponies will be right behind us along the way, carrying our belongings and camping necessities.
Continuing the trekking path for another 1-2 hours, the heaves and rolls of the trail will peak with a steep last segment. Once you reach the Chhoe Tse Lhakhang (Temple) on the other side of the mountain, you will see the majestic snow-capped Himalayas.
The route continues with a 20-30 minute scale through some ancient ruins until we are back into the forest. With another 40-50 minute walk, we will once again emerge onto an open meadow filled with many holy chortens (stupas) and prayer flags.
After a short lunch break, we will explore and examine the Bumdra Monastery. You can ascend all the way up to the peak (at around 4,000m elevation) for the mesmerizing views of the surrounding mountains and peaks.
Retreat to your camp that will be set up just under the Bumdra Monastery. You’ll have dinner and the night’s rest at your Bumdra camp (at 3,800m elevation).

Day 06: Bumdra – Tiger’s Nest Temple – Paro
The sixth day of your 6 Nights Bhutan Vacation Package will commence right after an early breakfast. Get ready for the climax of your Bhutan holiday.
You will go back to the path of the valley and into the pine and rhododendron forest. After marching down for around 2 hours, the sights of the temples below will start to appear right before your eyes. The meandering course will continue until you reach the gardens of Zangto Pelri Lhakhang. From this spot, you could catch a glimpse of the magical Tiger’s Nest Temple that is sitting on a cliff further below.
After another 1-hour trek, you will be at a ravine right across the Tiger’s Nest Temple (Paro Taktsang). A steep 15-minute decline to a waterfall and another 15-minute uphill hike later, you will reach the temple of all temples in Bhutan, the Tiger’s Nest.
Once you’re done with the temple, you will pace yourself down the Paro Valley for around 1 hour. You will reach the main ground where our vehicle will be waiting to get you back on the road to your Paro Hotel.
Relish the last night in Paro and Bhutan before your commute back to your next destination tomorrow.
